Reducing Waste, One Kitchen Towel at a Time: My Eco-Friendly Journey 🌱
When it’s time to take the trash out every week in a two-person household, it’s always eye-opening how much waste we create. That’s when I decided to make some changes. 🌍
While kitchen paper towels might not seem like the worst environmental offenders compared to plastic, the amount used, coupled with the production and transportation costs, is what really got me thinking. It’s definitely a great starting point for reducing waste in the kitchen! 🍽️
A rough calculation showed that I use A LOT of paper towels daily: soaking up meat juices, cleaning up spills, wiping down surfaces, and lining vegetable storage. The list goes on! And guess what? Replacing them isn’t that hard – you don’t even have to change your habits much! 😎
Here’s my new system: I fold and wash my reusable kitchen towels, just like regular paper towels, and when I’m running low, I toss them in the washing machine for a quick cycle. I’ve tested them using an eco-friendly warm wash + low tumble dry – no issues, no shrinkage! 🙌
Lucky for me, Chloven is currently offering discounts, and I’m using these “Chloven Paperless Towels Roll – 25 Pack Washable Cotton Cloth Reusable Paper Towels | 10” X 10” Eco-Friendly Zero Waste Napkins with Durable Cardboard Roll” to double down on zero-waste living. The soft, single-layer fabric feels amazing and is perfect for replacing napkins or paper towels. I’ll update you all on how well they hold up over time – let’s see if these kitchen towels stay as good as new! 🤔
My life isn’t "zero waste" just yet, but I’m working towards a low-waste lifestyle, making eco-friendly choices when I can. I’m not rushing to replace everything in my home because I don’t want to waste things I already have. That said, I still use plastic-bottled cleaning products for now. 🧴
If you have any suggestions for better alternatives or want to share your zero-waste journey, let me know! 🌟 Here’s to learning and growing in the new year, and connecting with more people who care about sustainability, zero waste, and minimalist living! 🌱💚
